About the COVID-19 Benefit (As of June 2)

Due to the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Infection, the Japanese government has announced that everyone, regardless of the nationality, can apply for 100,000 yen as a life-support benefit.

Notice

The acceptance of applications by mail has been started since May 18.
Miyoshi City has mailed the application form to the householder of each family who is eligible for the benefit on May 15. 
If you have not received it yet, please contact this phone number 0824-62-6121.

In addition, the consultation service for the benefit on the 1st floor of Miyoshi City Hall will be closed on June 5. Would you like to consult after June 8, please come to Planning and Coordination Division on the 3rd floor of the main building of Miyoshi City Hall.


People Who Can Apply for the Benefit

You can apply for the benefit as long as you meet the following two conditions.
(1) "Residence Card (Zairyu Card)" valid as of April 27, 2020
(2) "Residence Registration(Jumin Hyo)" valid as of April 27, 2020

Benefit Amount

100,000 yen per person

People Who Will Receive the Benefit

The householder will receive the money of the whole family.
The payment will be transferred to the bank account for each household.

Procedures for Victims Who Have Escaped from Domestic Violence

To receive the benefit, please contact the municipality of your current residence as soon as possible and explain that you are taking shelter there from domestic violence or other reason so that the municipality can verify.
As long as you go through the procedure, you may also receive the money.

How to Apply for the Benefit

(1)Application by Mail
  An application form will be sent by mail from the city hall.
  Fill in your bank account information on the application form for the transfer.
  Send the following three documents to the city hall by mail.
  ・ Application form
  ・ A copy of an identity verification document
      For example, a copy of the driver's license or the residence card

  ・ A document that can confirm the payment transfer account 
      For example, a copy of a passbook or a cash card, etc.
 

(2)Online Application (For My Number Card Holders)
 Input your payment transfer account on the MynaPortal website, and upload a document that can confirm the payment transfer account then apply. (Identity verification documents are not required. )

There may be some people who lie and try to trick your money.
Neither the government nor municipalities will ask you for your bank account information by phone.
Neither the government nor municipalities will ask you to transfer money.
